The Junior Health class has been learning about how volunteering can be beneficial for mental health and they put this to good use by volunteering at the Open Door Mission Timberlake Outreach Center for a day. The class also went on a tour of the facility to learn about all the ways they help people and further volunteering opportunities. It was a fun and enjoyable day!

We welcomed three baby goats over the weekend! On Monday, our AG students enjoyed taking care of the new arrivals and spending time with them throughout the day.

KHC is underway, and our school is excited about feeling good while doing good! Essex Community School is helping kids with special hearts through Kids Heart Challenge. We want as many families as possible to learn about heart health and the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.
You can help by completing Finn’s Mission. When your student completes all the steps, they’ll earn a Lifesavers Cape and earn a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LXI in 2027!

We had a blast kicking off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge at Essex Community School! With help from this year’s Heart Heroes, we’re learning all about keeping our hearts healthy through movement, kindness, rest, and knowing when to ask for help.
