ISASP

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week begins the required state testing process for the 2025–2026 school year. The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) is designed to measure how well students are mastering the Iowa Core standards in reading, mathematics, science, and writing. These assessments provide valuable information about your child’s academic growth and help guide instruction at both the classroom and district levels.

Our staff has worked hard all year to prepare your children for these assessments, and we are excited for students to demonstrate the progress they have made. Please encourage your child to take their time and do their very best on each test.

As always, we value and celebrate student effort and achievement. We look forward to recognizing their hard work and success throughout the testing period.

A few important reminders:

  • Please ensure your child arrives at school on time and ready to begin testing.

  • Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM at the secondary level and shortly after in the elementary.

  • While there is no strict time limit, we have scheduled a two-hour testing block each day.

  • Students who need additional time will be provided accommodations as needed.

Testing Schedule:

  • Wednesday, April 15 – Science (Grades 5, 8, and 10 only)

  • Wednesday, April 22 – Reading (Grades 3–11)

  • Thursday, April 23 – Math (Grades 3–11)

  • Friday, April 24 – Language and Writing (Grades 3–11)

Test-Taking Tips:

  • Get a good night’s sleep before each testing day

  • Eat a healthy breakfast

  • Arrive at school on time and prepared

  • Encourage a positive attitude and confidence

  • Remind your child to take their time and check their work

Thank you for your support in helping make this a successful testing period for all students.
