Title I

The Essex Community School District is a Title 1 Targeted Assistance Building, which means we offer Title 1 Reading and Math services to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Title 1 is a program offered through the federal government to students who are in need of extra assistance in Reading and/or Math.  This help is offered as a supplement to the core instruction in the classroom, not a replacement.  It is a "fluid" program which allows students to get the help they need, be dismissed from the program, and come back again if needed. Essex Community School District encourages parent involvement and supports a partnership between home/school/community.

You will find documents that explain our program, what the qualifications are, and our Teacher, Student, Parent Compact. If you have any questions about the program, need information, or would like to see if your child qualifies for Title 1 Reading and/or Math services, please let me know.  I am also glad to supply you with materials to use with your child at home.
